For the 2024 edition of Forum RIDM, we are looking for a director/producer duo with a feature-length documentary film project in development to participate in Doc Lab Montréal, Forum RIDM’s project incubator, scheduled for November 22-27, 2024. The selected director/producer duo will have the chance to enhance their project's development as a part of Doc Lab Montréal. This intensive training and networking event is designed to foster exchange and collaboration, offering workshops and the opportunity to connect with industry professionals. With projects expected from several countries, participants will be immersed in a diverse and dynamic environment, fostering connections between documentary creators from all over the world. Travel and accommodation costs (for the duration of the stay in Montreal) will be covered by Forum RIDM. This includes all accreditation fees for both Doc Lab Montreal (Nov. 22-24) as well as the professional market, which will carry on until Nov. 27. We're looking for: • A director/producer duo from Louisiana with a feature-length documentary project in development or in the early stages of production, with a planned length of 60 minutes or more. (must currently reside in the state of Louisiana and have lived in Louisiana for a minimum of 12 months prior to submitting the application. Proof of residency required - Louisiana driver’s license, a Louisiana voter registration card or a utility bill in your name with your Louisiana address) • Participants available for November 22-27, 2024 (covering both Doc Lab Montreal and Forum RIDM’s professional market). • Emerging filmmakers who have previously made a minimum of one short film and a maximum of two feature-length films. Overview: • 3 days of closed-circuit group work sessions supervised by mentors. • 3 days of meetings, round tables, master classes and discussions with local and international professionals. • A pitch activity within Forum RIDM’s professional market, for an audience composed of professionals from international markets. • Selected participants must be available for the entire duration of Doc Lab Montréal and the following market, from November 22-27, 2024. • Sessions will be in English or French, depending on the speakers and participants. Real time translation provided for participants if needed. • Selected participants in Doc Lab Montréal will have the chance to participate in project development sessions, in addition to accessing master classes, lectures and round tables included in Forum RIDM’s program. Projects must be submitted in English (the Lab’s working language). Deadline for submission is July 20, 2024, 6:00 pm CST. Selected participants will be contacted by the end of August 2024. Doc Lab Montréal’s full program will be unveiled in the Fall of 2024.
