You are welcome to submit works of expanded cinema, performance, installation and sculpture that incorporate the moving image on film. The call for submissions is now OPEN For MONO NO AWARE XVIII - It is FREE to submit your work for consideration at a sliding scale, the events are also free to attend (since 2007). This edition of the expanded cinema arts festival celebrates the 18th anniversary of MONO NO AWARE as an arts organization and will premiere the work of eight commissioned works by local filmmakers whom we met through the community workshops led at our learning lab space in Downtown Brooklyn. In addition to submitting your own work, we kindly ask that you forward this call to friends and colleagues. The call is also linked to our InstaGram account. For this year, MONO NO AWARE is proud to promote the 16mm non-toxic color mordençage work in progress by Suneil Sanzgiri as our festival call-for-entries image. Suneil Sanzgiri is an Indian-American artist, researcher, and filmmaker. His work spans experimental video and film, essays, and installations, and contends with questions of identity, heritage, culture and diaspora in relation to structural violence.
