Position Description APPOINTMENT: Associate Professor Adjunct or Professor in the Practice of Guitar beginning fall semester, 2025, with an initial appointment of three to five years, depending on qualifications. Appointment renewable with review during the penultimate year. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Position is full-time and includes all faculty benefits. RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach graduate guitar performance students, coach chamber music ensembles, teach a guitar seminar in the major course, and adjudicate degree recitals as required. Maintain a professional, international profile that reflects the career of a distinguished teacher/performer; and contribute as a faculty member to all facets of the School of Music. QUALIFICATIONS: Proven national/international artistic stature and distinction as a performing artist and pedagogue. Demonstrated successful teaching experience at the graduate level, and the ability to attract and recruit gifted graduate students. Familiarity with a variety of musical styles and experience playing different types of guitars is preferred.
