About

New Orleans-based Father Ron and Friends are a Louisiana-folk band, and champions of The Great American Songbook, channeling their influences in folk, rock, blues, jazz, Cajun, zydeco and funk. Guided by the the life and music of Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie and other 20th century greats, this diverse group lend their voices to create their own niche to this style of traditional American music. With several Global Music Awards under their belt, Father Ron and Friends have performed at many venues in Louisiana including Buffa's, and designed their Porch Concert Series as a way to bring community together through the power of music. The Great American Singalong has gathered energy as many have been reunited with these great songs while introducing a new generation to what some consider the heart of the American soul of the 20th century. Bringing together original and traditional songs by some of the best of folk music, The Great American Singalong celebrates the life of the American experience.
